Fort Lauderdale, Florida -- Fort Lauderdale-based technology company CP Handheld today announced that it has entered into an agreement with AutoNation, Inc. (NYSE: AN), America’s largest automotive retailer, to provide automated inventory, floor plan and RDR reconciliation tools at its Shared Services Center in Dallas, TX. AutoNation’s Shared Service Center (SSC) model allows it to reduce costs by consolidating a variety of account reconciliations that are traditionally performed at the dealership level. CP Handheld will also conduct physical scans for AutoNation’s 200 plus stores using its nationwide AutoScan service. The agreement went into effect beginning in the 1st quarter of 2010. CP Handheld offers auto dealerships a comprehensive set of web-based tools that simplify the reconciliation process by automating data collection from the manufacturer, DMS, bank, and physical scans to quickly create accurate, reliable reconciliation reports. The CP Handheld reconciliation system is user-friendly and requires no additional hardware or software installation.
“CP Handheld has been instrumental in helping us to control costs through the consolidation of many of our back-office reconciliation processes at our Shared Service Center,” says Denise Foley, VP Purchasing and Payroll. “And as a publicly traded company, we’re very pleased with CP Handheld’s ability to integrate with our systems and maintain our tight audit control standards.”
With over 800 monthly reconciliations, CP Handheld has helped auto dealerships operate more efficiently and reduce costs since it was launched in South Florida seven years ago. “We’re excited to be helping the leader in retail automotive consolidate their back-office operations,” says company president Dan Perry. “Through their Shared Service Center model, AutoNation is successfully leveraging our technology to bring them tremendous efficiencies over the traditional method of performing reconciliations.”
